NutritionDay 2024: A Global Initiative Against Malnutrition
Date: November 14, 2024
All Day, Nationwide Participation
On November 14, 2024, we invite healthcare facilities across Germany to participate in nutritionDay (nDay), an annual global initiative aimed at raising awareness of malnutrition and improving the quality of nutritional care within health institutions. This important event seeks to collect comparable data that can inform future strategies and policies in the fight against malnutrition.
What is nutritionDay?
NutritionDay is a one-day international cross-sectional survey that encourages hospitals, nursing homes, and now even outpatient practices and nutrition counseling centers to participate in gathering vital data on the nutritional status of patients and residents. By taking part in nDay, facilities contribute to a worldwide effort to understand and address malnutrition through evidence-based practices.
How Can You Participate?
Hospital Wards and Nursing Homes:
On nDay, we encourage you to engage in data collection efforts that will help assess the prevalence of malnutrition in your facility. This involves completing standardized surveys provided in multiple languages, which will facilitate the collection of comprehensive data on nutritional practices and patient outcomes.
Outpatient Practices and Counseling Centers:
Since 2023, outpatient facilities have also been able to join the nDay Primary Care initiative. We encourage all nutrition-related practices to participate in this important survey, helping to shed light on nutritional care beyond hospital settings.
