The GeroS project initiated in the year 2015. with the goal of enabling best health care service for geriatric patients at all levels (hospitals, geriatric centers and in the home care segment). In order to do so the Andrija Stampar Teaching Institute of Public Health in collaboration with the Croatian Health Insurance Fund and Croatian Society of Clinical Nutrition Croatian Medical Association initiated the computerization of health and social care services of geriatric patients. In order to gather all the data on geriatric patients GeroS was linked with the National Information System on Health Infrastructure (cro. CEZIH). The overall goal of this project is not only for all the data to be computerized but to be available for everybody in the Health care system of Croatia. Also, GeroS would enable more efficient monitoring of patients and data evaluation. All the aforementioned would contribute to a more efficient, accessible and well-regulated Health care system that would also ensure the improvement of geriatric health care, evaluation of services and cost benefit analysis. The analysis would thus contribute to decreasing costs of the overall Health care system.
