Nutrition process and enteral nutrition
22 September 2021, Aarhus, Denmark
Under the auspices of the Danish Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (DAPEN) a practice and evidence workshop was held for nurses.
Aim of the workshop
The aim was to optimize nurses knowledge regarding evidence-based nutrition practice by lectures on the clinical nutrition process throughout the settings of hospitals, outpatient clinics, home care and nursing homes. Furthermore, a hands-on workshop preceded by a lecture on the latest enteral probes and practices for handling gave the 109 participants the possibility to enhance practical skills. At the exhibitions, the companies were very helpful to answer questions and show their different products and tools available.
Nurses came from all different settings and were well distributed between experienced and quite novice nurses from all over the country.
Evaluation of the day was very positive and we will definitely go with a combined lecture/practice workshop day another time.
Let’s not forget education of the nurses who are closest to the patients every day.
