Supported by the Optimal Nutritional Care for All (ONCA) campaign, several European countries have launched their Malnutrition Awareness Week since 2020 and 15 ONCA countries are engaging in Malnutrition Awareness Week in 2023.
Although each week has its own timing, objective, scope and programme, they share the aim of driving optimal nutritional care implementation and the connection with the ONCA campaign.
April 5th the ONCA Malnutrition Awareness Week 2023 preparations were kicked off with a workshop of 24 delegates from 17 ONCA countries, sharing plans, ideas, objectives and activities for this year.

EFAD Malnutrition Awareness Week
Dietetic care must be integrated as an essential part of nutritional care, leaving no one behind. The European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians, EFAD, declares to promote dietitians by contributing, developing, and implementing nutritional and dietetic guidelines & nutritional care paths.
EFAD has officially declared that they will be organizing the Malnutrition Awareness Week from September 18 to September 22, 2023.
ESPEN Malnutrition Awareness Week
For another year, ESPEN, the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, will share valuable content through various activities that will be beneficial to countries engaging in Malnutrition Awareness Week and anyone interested. In 2023, ESPEN’s Malnutrition Awareness Week will be held from the 6th until the 12th of November.
